The time has come for me to admit it. I SUCK! I am not worthy of pet ownership. I SUCK!
I lost my Dude on Saturday.
Gone.
Poof.
I always let him run in the garden as I harvest my crops. I keep my eye on him as I do my thing. Only a few minutes passed and he was gone. GONE! We searched high and low, even called out his name. Funny thing, lizards never seem to respond to calls but we did it anyway. Still do.
Shit.
I loved that little guy. He was loved by many. He was so aloofly loveable.
I SUCK!
I don't understand why he would want to leave. He had a good life, lots of attention, and all the insects he could eat. I bought him comfortable new housing and ensured he had everything a lizard could need. I even promised him a wife in the not too distant future.
I still search for him and sleep restlessly hoping for his return. Winter is here soon and that just means doom for him, that is, if some other animal hasn't got there first and made some lizard skin boots out of him.
That's it. I just suck and feel sick about my Dude.

Honey, don't beat yourself over it. You gave Dude his freedom and veggie buffet, I think that is fucking awesome of you!
He didn't leave, he probably got all excited and ran...then got lost.

What a beautiful boy. I'm sorry. You gave him a good many years. He might even survive, you never know.
You do not suck as an animal caregiver. Like I said earlier, you gave him everything he needed; constant freedom in your garden, fed him well with veggies and other food, tons of love and care. I have seen you with him, you were wonderful with him and your other animals.
I admire (always will) you for your love for these creatures. I always dreamed of having a house full of different animals.

Maybe..... just maybe........ he found himself a dudess that rocked as much as he did and they are halfway to Mexico by now...
This is just a thought..... Try putting a heat lamp or a big ol' 500 watt flood light out near the garden, close to where he buggered off.... He likes being warm..... Might attract some pretty bugs for him too... I dunno....

Damn, I was thinking of spots where J might find him or smelly food that might attract him. Or noises that attracts him. I had no slight idea. Your idea seems like a great idea! But I don't know if that will work either.

Sorry about your Dude! That is sad to lose a friend. Perhaps he is just on vacation, the summer is nearing an end, or, perhaps he was ON vacation and had to return to lizard academy before the semester started. Perhaps u will find him before another pet does!
