like to talk about the pressing issues facing our country: the woeful
economy, rising unemployment, the housing crisis, and the wars in Iraq
and Afghanistan. But we can't talk about them because John McCain and
Sarah Palin have distracted us with the politics of hate and fear.
Instead
of discussing the real issues plaguing Americans, McCain and Palin have
turned to fear-mongering and race-baiting, stoking the prejudices of
their supporters. The situation has become so critical that we've
teamed up with Color of Change to put an end to these dangerous mob
scenes.
Things have gotten so out of control that some
conservatives have come forward to denounce McCain and Palin's
hate-mongering. In an Op-Ed for The Baltimore Sun, Frank Schaeffer
writes: "John McCain: If your campaign does not stop equating Sen.
Barack Obama with terrorism, questioning his patriotism and portraying
Mr. Obama as "not one of us," I accuse you of deliberately feeding the
most unhinged elements of our society the red meat of hate, and
therefore of potentially instigating violence."

I'm knockin' on doors, writing out postcards, making telephone calls, writing BLOGS, sending out mass SPAM and other things of general obnoxiousness for my main man, BARACK OBAMA. I promised last election to get more involved with the next election, so I AM. I meant what I said and I said what I meant. Barack Obama is going to BE MY next President! He's pretty hot too but...well that's not why I AM voting for him. Some of the men I speak to are voting for Palin cuz' they think she is HOT! GOOD GRIEF! I can't make this stuff up! 
I'm going to check with the peeps in charge and find out if I can win, or keep, or somehow acquire this full size cut out of Senator Obama. I can't wait to have him stand up by the road, grinnin'. 
LOL It's pretty RED round these parts and last election WI was just barely BLUE, so that is why I feel my efforts really matter. If my county goes BLUE well...you know I'm going to say it's all because of me! I bring lots of OBAMA stickers along everywhere I go and pass them out like candy treats, that's the secret to their hearts! wheee

I wonder why only certain tags show up on the side of my page and while other's are BIG & BOLD?
AIDS, ATRIPLA & HIV all show up Bigger and Bolder than the rest, yet I have probably only used those tags a handful of times. Is Xanga trying to force me into a certain category? Capitalize on my "affliction?" Tattoo me for all eternity with those words thus warning others that I AM a toxic bio-hazard? Tell me, why do those tags show up the way they do, while others do not make the cut at all?

As I was walking past my car yesterday I caught a glimpse of myself in the window.
I was Divinely Inspired so, I snapped a piktcha'.

I finally picked those wild elderberries we have growing every which way out here and made some lovely elderberry jam on Tuesday. It takes a lot of elderberries to make a pint of jam, but my efforts and sacred berry picking rituals, allowed me to find enough berries for 4.5 pints of the magical stuff. Oh yes, it is divine. Made the way I make all my other jams, with low sugar, Green Tea, powdered Vit C and a few drops of Stevia to boost the sweet. Sorry, I haven't a smidge to spare, these little lovely jars are staying right here with me. BUT!!! If you stop over for a visit I will indeed share...if only to see your face go YUM and to hear you boast of it's utter deliciousness.
Elderberries are so good for you too and full of many health BEnefits, particularly for the immune system. Elderberries are the main ingredient in Sambucol a European cold remedy that will cure all your ills, well... colds and flu anyway. So the next time I get to feeling a little run down, I won't need to swig from the Sambucol bottle, instead I'll spread some jam on a biscuit and watch the bugs skidaddle!
My next exotic jam pursuit is going to be hot pepper, crabapple jam. I have heaps of crabapples out here and never thought they would offer any food BEnefit, until this past winter, when a little, old lady on the phone gave me inspiration and instructions for making the most delightful little spreads. I could have talked to her for hours but the boss you know, she frowned on long, drawn out conversations with customers so...
My raspberries are crazy productive right now too and they must BE picked everyday so as not to lose any of those delicate lovelies. Some of the raspberries are eaten on the spot, others turn into pie, others find their way into a blender with ice and lemonade, others I give away, and the rest get frozen to BEcome jam on another day. GOD is abundant with my raspberry patch so...come pick from my bushes and ENJOY!
